This course is about inspiring the concept of creation, teaching the students to use the visual images as the tools of creation. There are two important parts in this course, one is to teach the most famous photographers’ works in the world and the second part of the course will demand students to make their own photos. The course will be more like workshops than usual class, students can feel free to ask questions or join discussions. How the relationship between “me” and “others” is reconstructing is the main issue of this course, the course starts from the recognition of the relationship between me and others and ends in “the visual art is an expression of concepts”.

本課程在於啟發創作概念，教導影像生產如何成為創作的法門。課程內容分成兩部份，彼此相扣，一是有主題性的介紹東西方攝影名作，另是接續該主題而要求的攝影製作。關於後者，學生不僅要隨堂繳交習作，也要作口頭發表，陳述作品的概念或想法，以訓練影像思考與語言概念之雙重的表達能力。於是，本課程強調工作坊式的隨堂討論與自由發問，也鑒於初學階段，基本訓練是從自我形象的再現到「我與他者」（他人、他事、他地、他時或他物）的聯繫為主軸，當中包括對我的位置與社會結構的體認，最後是以「影像是一種觀念的表達」作為課程的結束。
